Brackett Bosker® Bandit Automatic Trash Rake
Ovivo has a wide range of established automatic raking machines to efficiently remove coarse debris and protect downstream equipment for land drainage, nuclear power, hydro power, cooling water and wastewater applications.
This system cleans, conveys and discharges debris on a pre-programmed cycle. It can be located on a deck-mounted travel carriage, which enables the rake to clean multiple intakes and provides a low-profile alternative to the overhead Brackett Bosker Automatic Raking screen.
A practical and reliable solution
The Brackett Bosker Bandit Automatic Trash Rake can be easily retrofitted to existing intakes. It has the ability to execute large radius turns on a deck-mounted travel carriage, enabling the cleaning of multiple intakes. There are no exposed cables or submerged moving parts so maintenance costs are low.
This solution is ideally suited to small operations and those located in remote areas. The Brackett Bosker Bandit Automatic Trash Rake is also ideal for intakes that rely on manual cleaning methods.
The Ovivo team works closely with all partners to assist with their debris removal needs by providing:
- Feed studies
- Design optimisation (cost engineering)
- Life cycle cost analysis
Fully customisable for a range of water intake requirements
The Brackett Bosker Bandit Automatic Trash Rake is a fully customisable and automated system that provides benefits that place this equipment ahead of alternatives. Benefits include:
- A fully customisable deck mounted track
- A capacity of up to 250 kg (551 lbs) safe working load (debris loading)
- Capable of executing turns of up to 270°
- Low noise operation for urban sites
A solution that combines innovation and experience
The Brackett Bosker Bandit Automatic Trash Rake can traverse on a deck mounted track allowing access to multiple screens and remote dump sites. The Bosker can be operated by a pre-programmed cycle, manual activation or level differential.
At the start signal, the Brackett Bosker Bandit Automatic Trash Rake travels to the designated screen area and stops over its first pick-up point. Upon reaching the designated cleaning zone, the machine is rotated by a geared motor unit mounted inside the main body and the grab is extended, enabling the teeth of the Brackett Bosker Bandit grab unit to fully penetrate the bar screen and recover any debris for deck disposal.
The grab is opened and closed by a hydraulic arm, three double-acting hydraulic arms control the grab unit, the linear movement of the telescopic arm, and the lifting of the telescopic arm.
opsCTRLTM, supplied as standard with the Brackett Bosker Bandit Automatic Trash Rake, allows remote monitoring, Ovivo service engineer contact, storage of O&M manuals and predictive maintenance tracking.
The Brackett Bosker Bandit Automatic Trash Rake is used in some of the world’s most demanding power generation applications. The current design, which has been refined and updated over decades of experience, and can be customised to client specifications, features the following technical details:
- Grippers available in widths of up to 2.5 m (8.2 ft)
- Bar screen spacing from 12 to 200 mm (0.5 to 7.8 in) and more
- Intake depths of up to 2.5 m (8.2 ft)
- A range of fully customisable materials
- Capacity ranges up to 250 kg (551 lbs) safe working load (debris loading)
